Back by popular demand! Join CRYS for a 3-day weekend of fellowship
and hiking as we enjoy the cool temperatures and beautiful forests in
northern Arizona. We will be joined by
Seminarian Dan Vanyo for a
discussion on scripture and sacred tradition. Mass, prayer, hiking,
community cooking and other activities are planned.
We will meet
at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 8th in the parking lot of St. Thomas the Apostle Church (located on the northwest corner of 24th Street and Campbell, just one half-mile south of Camelback). We'll then carpool to Flagstaff where we stay overnight on
Friday and Saturday; departing Sunday.
Lodging will be at the
White House Retreat Center in Flagstaff, which requests a $40 donation
per person, for the weekend. We'll also request a small amount for gas
and for the group meals.

CRYS 15th REUNION CELEBRATION
When: Saturday, Aug. 16
It's hard to believe that CRYS has been around for 15 years, but on
the
Feast of the Assumption in 1993, Fr. Alberto Ruiz, CMF, dedicated the
very first CRYS Retreat to the Blessed Virgin Mary. To celebrate our
founding, a very special retreat-like experience is planned for this
August. We want to bring back the memories we experienced on our first
CRYS retreat.
We'll have featured talks from Fr. Billy Kosco and John Villapudua, as well as
fellowship, Adoration, and of course, the holy Mass. Following dinner,
we'll watch a special DVD presentation of the 15 years of CRYS and
close with a very, special guest!
Dinner will be a
pot luck, so please bring a dish to share--perhaps an appetizer, main
dish, or desert. CRYS will supply the beverages and plates and
utensils. And, as a special treat, a very lucky and select few will get
to re-experience their kitchen team memories!
All are welcome,
so please join us as we celebrate our founding and meet all of those
who have been touched by CRYS through the years!

CRYS BIBLE STUDYCRYS is excited to host the
Great Adventure Bible Timeline,
a two-year course presented on DVD that will take us through the 14
books of the Bible that provide a narrative thread to salvation
history. With a firm grasp of this narrative, the Bible will truly open
up and connect us to Christ present throughout eternity. We will view
the hour-long Bible study, followed by a 30-minute presentation from a
featured guest, and close with 30 minutes of group discussion.
We meet on the first and third Sunday of each month from
2:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at St. Jerome Catholic Church, which is located on 35th Avenue, just north of Peoria Avenue, in north-central Phoenix (click

for a map). We'll meet in the Parish Ministry Center (PMC), which on
the northeast corner of Desert Cove and 35th Avenue, directly north of
the church across the street. Be on the lookout for the CRYS banner!

CRYS RETREAT #37 -- "MY LORD AND MY GOD"

CRYS #37 Retreat's theme will be "My Lord and my God."
The retreat is an opportunity to gather for a weekend in a
casual environment to further our journey with Christ and share in His

Join
the group praying on the CRYS E-mail prayer chain. You will receive an
e-mail once or twice a week with prayer intentions. The form and
frequency of praying for the intentions is up to you. Send an e-mail
to
ltoner1@cox.net to join the CRYS community of prayer. You do not need to be on the prayer chain to submit a prayer intention.
